Description

This tool generates word search puzzles from any list of words you provide. Words are hidden in a grid of letters and can run horizontally, vertically, or diagonally (forward or reversed). The grid is filled with random letters to conceal the hidden words.

You can set a fixed grid size or let the tool calculate the ideal dimensions automatically. A solution overlay lets you check where each word was placed. The puzzle can be copied as plain text for printing or sharing.

Instructions

  1. Enter your words in the text box, one per line.
  2. Choose the grid size manually, or check "Ideal size" to let the tool calculate it.
  3. Select which directions words can go: horizontal, vertical, diagonal, and their reverses.
  4. Press Generate to create the puzzle.
  5. Use "Show solution" to highlight where each word was placed.
  6. Use "Copy grid" to copy the puzzle as plain text.
  7. If a word could not be placed (grid too small or too crowded), it will be listed below the grid.
